    OVERVIEW

    The course is organized in two parts: practical exercices (first semester, 40 hours) and a metalinguistic reflection module (2nd semester, 36 hours) on tourism terminology.

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    At the end of the course, the student will acquire basic written and oral skills (between Level A2 and Level B1 of the Common European Language Framework) of the French language to answer the demand in the tourism sector, including the ability to understand simple Specific texts. The four oral and written comprehension and production skills will be developed in parallel, with particular attention to oral skills in the first year. In particular, in the theoretical module (36 hours), the course will deepen the aspects related to the development of lexical, morphosynthetic and phonetic skills more problematic for the Italian learners and will deepen themes related to the digital aspects of the tourism market, developing in parallel with the exercises (40 hours), held by French native speakers. The analysis of authentic documentation relating to the tourism sector will be the basis of the didactic material.

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Students will acquire a competence in French equivalent to level A2+ in CECR. Moreover, he/she will acquire knowledge in the field of tourism terminology.

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT

    Part I: practial exercices (40 hours– 1st semester)

    Part II: metalinguistic reflection (36 hours– 2nd semester)

    The entire course will focus a progression and will concentrate on situations and problems which are typical of tourism, with special attention to French tourism. Different communication contexts will be dealt with, such as oral interaction, telephone communication, web and e-mail communication, comprehension and production of simple and short texts and digital hypertexts.

    The program of the theoretical module of academic year 2017/2018 will concentrate on tourism terminology.

    The course bibliography will be given at the beginning of the course and published on Aulaweb.

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

    The exam is organized in two parts:

    - test on computer (grammar, reading and listening comprehension)

    - oral exam.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    Assessment

    Test and oral exam. The test will verify that the student has acquired the competences developed during the whole year (listening and reading comprehension, grammar) while the oral exam will test oral production and specific knowledge and abilities acquired during the second part of the course. Students will be required to prepare an individual or group work.
