The course aims to develop the history and enhancement of the territory also through the organization of the museum and the widespread museum.
The course has as its main objectives: to produce knowledge of individual cases of territorial study for the purpose of Their cultural and tourist value. The course will attempt to propose examples of individual territorial units Widespread museums and + examples of enhancing museum resources.
The educational objectives of the course aim to provide students with a history of museums and the museum system in Italy and, more specifically, to illustrate the history of the Ligurian territory through the history and knowledge of cultural heritage, the presence of travelers and provide basic elements of museum organization.
Basic knowledge of territorial and historical culture is required.
The lessons will hopefully be held in person (in the case of remote lessons via video conference on the Teams platform, the access code will be provided here).
Part I: History of collecting, the birth of museums and the affirmation of the concepts of safeguarding and transmitting cultural heritage;
Part II: History of the enhancement and protection of cultural heritage in the area;
Part III: Practical exercises for the enhancement of the territory.

Office hours: The office hours during the course, starting from 15 February 2022, will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from h. 14.00 to h. 15.00, at the teacher's office (via Balbi 4, 3rd floor). In any case, students are invited to contact the teacher at the institutional address (eliana.carrara@unige.it) to announce their presence or to agree on other times, in order to avoid misunderstandings. Finally, a special Teams channel has been set up (code: dp79jfm) for those who cannot / want to go to the office for the reception, always after having contacted the teacher by email.

The start date of the lessons will be communicated as soon as possible.
The exam includes a written report, presented publicly to the whole class towards the end of the lessons and an interview on the essays and the reading and in-depth texts proposed, also with the help of the lessons reported on Aulaweb.
Knowledge will be assessed with a mark out of thirty, half of which will be assigned for the written exercise, while the other half will be assigned having satisfied three questions on the texts or essays suggested.
