AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide students with theoretical and methodological basis for populations evolution analysis. The treated contents of Populations Genetics and Zoogeography both historical-descriptive and applied (e.g. conservation genetic) should lead students to develop critical and analytical capabilities useful for further in-depth research and personal research. TEACHING METHODS Lectures using power point presentations. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Population and meta-population: general aspects. Populations Genetics. Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and its deviations. History of and introduction to Zoogeography. Continental drift and current distribution of ecological conditions (biomes). Ranges definition, description and analysis.
