The aim of the course is providing models and tools for the assessment of safety and security aspects in the context of transport and logistic systems through the application of different alternative methodologies. In particular, at the end of the course the student will be able to apply both combinatorial methods and state-based ones for RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety) analysis and risk assessment.
At the end of the course the student will have acquired the fundamental notions for the assessment of safety and security aspects in the context of transport systems through the application of different alternative methodologies.
The course takes place in a classroom. During the lessons, the professor shows slides (which are made available to the students through Aulaweb, before the lesson) on the various topics of the course and, in some cases, he uses the blackboard to explain in detail some specific contents.
In the 2021/22 academic year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, lessons can be held in a different way, according to the rules defined by the University of Genoa.
Ricevimento: The professor receives by appointment (write an email to fix the appointment).

The exam consists of an oral test.
The student's assessment is carried out through an oral test in which the student is asked to illustrate (on the blackboard) the theoretical topics of the course and to solve (on the blackboard) some exercises. The student must demonstrate that he/she has acquired a sufficient knowledge of the topics illustrated in class and that he/she is able to solve simple problems of modeling and analysis of transport systems from the safety and security points of view.
It is mandatory to register for the exam through the online services at least 5 days in advance (deadline established by the University of Genoa).
