CODE 90446 ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 1 SAFETY ENGINEERING FOR TRANSPORT, LOGISTICS AND PRODUCTION 10377 (LM-26) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ICAR/05 TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: TRANSPORT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The goal of the course is providing the basic analytical tools for the study of transport systems, including: supply models of transport infrastructures and services, probability theory and random choice, behavioural and non-behavioural demand models, and assignment models and algorithms both with optimization and fixed-point approaches. All the topics will be faced from the point of view of theory and applications. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES After the course, the student shall know and shall be able to apply the basic techniques for representing and analyzing transport systems. TEACHING METHODS Lectures consist of class activities, with theory and exercises SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course is divided into four main chapters: Introduction to transportation systems and their relation with the surrounding environment Transportation systems supply modelling: link models, costs and congestion network and services models, shortest path problem Basics on probability theory Transportation systems demand modelling: behavioral models: users’ characteristics, random utility, and random choice models for the destination, mode, and path dimensions non-behavioral models: gravity model Transportation systems supply and demand interactions: equilibrium assignment intra-period assignment and stability RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Transport Systems Analysis (Basic reference): E.
