AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Economic evaluation of projects The aim of the course is to provide students with the theoretical and operational tools related to the assessment of the economic-financial feasibility of real estate development projects. Building economics The main objective of the course is to provide students with the theoretical and operational tools related to the assessment of the economic and financial sustainability of energy retrofitting projects in buildings, with particular reference to interventions on the built heritage. PREREQUISITES The following basic knowledge is required to deal with the content of the course: building costs and methodologies for estimating the cost of building interventions (synthetic and analytical estimates); market value of a property and estimation methods; elements of financial mathematics; skill on excel software. To access the exam, the student must deliver the exercise on the evaluation of the economic-financial feasibility of a building intervention assigned by the teacher. Building economics ASSESSMENT METHODS Economics evaluation of projects The written exam will verify the student's acquisition of the Benefit Cost Analysis methodology for assessing the economic-financial feasibility of building projects. The overall assessment will take into account both the results of the written test and the exercise developed individually by the student relating to the application of a Cost-Benefit Analysis to a case study provided by the teacher.
