We will try to correlate what happens in the atmosphere with what happens in the oceans and vice versa. Finally, we will analyze the planning of an oceanographic campaign, and real case studies of monitoring at sea. Sea cruises are planned to apply what has been learned during the course to real situations. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Study of the physical-chemical characteristics of the water masses and their dynamics and study of the electronic instrumentation necessary for their characterization. Study of real cases and solution of related problems. Students will be able to face and resolve situations that may occur at sea (during campaigns at sea) by working in teams with different tasks: all of them will take turns to be responsible for the real activities that will take place on board. TEACHING METHODS Please refer to the specific AulaWeb application for teaching for any updates due to changes in the health and epidemiological situation. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The main contents of the course will concern the study of physical-chemical parameters of the water emasse (T, Sal, Turbidity ...) and their interactions with the environment also from a biological point of view, and the study of dynamics and causes that "cause" it. The circulation of the Oceans and the seas of the Mediterranean Sea will be studied with particular attention to the Ligurian Sea. The main oceanographic instruments will be studied and used for real activities, analyzing real cases and solving new cases during cruises at sea.
