AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES After the course, the student shall know and shall be able to apply, through dedicated optimization and simulations software tools, basic and advanced notions about: transport demand estimation transport systems simulation road network functional design public transport systems design PREREQUISITES Students should be familiar with probability, transport supply, demand, and assignment models. TEACHING METHODS Class lectures (approximately 60% of the lessons) and software laboratory exercises (approximately 40% of the lessons). SYLLABUS/CONTENT Transport demand direct estimation (survey) and reliability assessment Model-based estimation: identification demand model parameters Origin/Destination (O/D) matrix update and calibration Transport systems macro-simulation and micro-simulation Road networks design Public transport systems design Cost/Benefit analysis RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY E.
