    OVERVIEW

    The course is profiled as professionalizing and therefore has peculiar teaching methods, contents and evaluation methods. The “Euro-planning” is the set of activities related to the conception, preparation and presentation of European projects in response to a call issued within the framework of a European program. From this activity the figure of the European planner was born: the European planner is that professional figure able to take on the participation of public bodies, companies, associations, etc. to European calls. The course aims precisely at providing a first technical-theoretical and practical basis for knowing and using the different skills of the European designer.

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    At the end of the course, the student is able to:

    • know the main European direct and indirect financing programs;
    • understand the contents of European funding calls, knowing how to grasp the main elements necessary for submitting an application;

    know the essential know-how to manage a European project.

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The course aims to provide skills with a technical-practical content aimed at generating the project idea and at the first assessment of consistency with the call for proposals. Attention will also be paid to skills:

    1. of project management for the coordination of activities, objectives, and results expected from the project;
    2. basic accounting and finance, useful for budgeting and administrative management;
    3. of management, communication, and networking for the coordination of partnerships and for the management of relations with stakeholders.

    PREREQUISITES

    Desire to get involved and, if possible, own a laptop.

    Basic knowledge of one of the EU working languages: English, French, German.

    TEACHING METHODS

    Lectures and training will alternate constantly. The lectures will provide the necessary theoretical-technical tools of the European designer; the exercitations will be aimed both at putting knowledge into practice and at finding and resolving doubts and problems, so to be also aimed to constitute a moment of self-assessment. The exercitations will be based on the compilation of parts of application forms and on the group discussion of individual students’ proposals. The constant alternation of lectures and exercitations requires a certain diligence in attendance.

    The course is starting on 15 September 2021, on line via Teams, code l1cgg6o, timetable: Wednesday 10-12, Thursday 10-12, Friday 10-12.

    EXAMS

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

    The written exam, on computer, lasting three hours, will consist in the drafting of some points of an application form.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    The text of the exam, summarizing the various exercitations, will be available in the day of the exam on Aulaweb and must be returned, again via AW, within three hours. Specifically, a call and the relative application form will be provided and it will be necessary to:

    • identify the eligible subjects, the duration of the project, the co-financing share;

    • develop a very short work program from which the European added value can be understandable and identify two or three possible activities (it will be necessary to be “correct”, not necessarily original).

    The correct identification of the elements of the first point is the criterion for passing / failing to carry out the test.

    The consistency of the answers to the second point will be the criteria for defining the exam grade.
