AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

During the final examination, candidates will critically discuss, in front of the designated exam commission, their summary paper, written under the guidance of a University supervisor. The paper will address the themes and disciplines encountered throughout the candidate's academic path. Prior to discussing their papers, candidates will be assessed on their knowledge of a language of the European Union.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Product Design and Communication Curriculum:

Students will decide whether to approach their final examination by developing a portfolio or by developing a design theme.

- The development of a portfolio showcases the candidate's skills acquired over the span of the three years of study throughout the various topics encountered. The candidate's portfolio can be developed using various graphic solutions (paper, virtual, video) and shall therefore represent a synthesis of the various training and learning experiences throughout the course.
Students will receive validation of their portfolio by choosing a supervisor among the members of the teaching body.

- Alternatively, students can develop a design project on a topic of their choosing, acting as an in-depth analysis of an issue that was only encountered during a workshop, or a topic related to the activities carried out during the internship.

Nautical Design Curriculum:

The final examination is divided into two parts.

The first part is the development of a portfolio showcasing the candidate's skills acquired over the span of the three years of study throughout the various topics encountered. The candidate's portfolio can be developed using various graphic solutions (paper, virtual, video) and shall therefore represent a synthesis of the various training and learning experiences throughout the course. A supervisor, chosen among the members of the teaching body of the relevant topic area, will be selected to validate the candidate's portfolio.

The second theme, providing the materials necessary to pass the final exam, is the development of a design project, general layout and outfitting of a vessel, as well as the in-depth analysis of one topic chosen by the candidate. These materials will be validated by the student's supervisor, as well as by one teaching member from the relevant area and by one teaching member from the Design area, providing students with formal acknowledgement of the project both during the initial and the final phases.
