AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Theoretical and practical knowledge of the main techniques for scientific data analysis, with special reference to analytical chemistry data. Learning the use of statistic tools for data treatment and validation of analytical methods. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the student will be able to: 1) know the basic theoretical aspects of the main techniques of statistical analysis of scientific data, particularly regarding analytical data. 2) apply these methods to the statistical analysis of specific datasets. ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral examination is performed by two professors and it is about 45-minutes long. During the examination, the student answers to multiple-choice questions, orally explains subjects related to the content of the course and discusses a case-study previously assigned. In this way, the commission is able to evaluate if the learning outcomes have been achieved. If not, the student is asked to study more thoroughly and/or take benefit from further explanations by the teachers.
