OVERVIEW

The course will provide the fundamental notions for the understanding of the behavioral correlations of the fisiological functions. Also the topic of patient-doctor relationship will be analyzed, focusing on fundamental themes such as communication with the ill or the psychological implications of the illness.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Gaining knowledge on the principles behavioural and emotional analysis is based on, in order to develop a capacity of self-evaluation and experience in the relationship-communication field. Ability to recognize the main behavioural risk factors as cause of social distress and identify the characteristics of different human groups. Gaining communicative and social skills, both for the doctor-patient relationship and for istitutional relationship. Define the theoretical framework of health and illness with particular attention to the psychologic background and the psychosocial component.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Gaining the main methodological-clinical elements, used in tthe field of communication in medicine. Gaining relationship skills, ability to communicate with clarity and humanity with the patient and their relatives, and to collaborate with the various professional figures in different sanitary roles.

Understanding the clinical relevance of doctor-patient interaction, according to an integrated psychosomatic vision of the health-illness relationship.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will be preceded by a self-evaluation test at the end of the course. The test will be composed by 32 multiple choice questions about the entire schedule of the course. The oral exams will follow.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

With the self-evaluation test the level of knowledge will be assessed; it will be further inquired during the oral exams, in which the analysis and framing of clinical cases skill will be also verified.
