Sport seen as an essential element of culture and therefore analyzed with an anthropological perspective. Actions, narrations, visions, ways of communicating, languages can be observed with a "thick analysis” (Geertz), able to reveal the functioning of the society in question. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to observe sport as a total social fact. Sport seen as an essential element of culture and therefore analyzed with an anthropological perspective. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to provide students with the tools to address and investigate various aspects of sports communication, starting from an anthropological perspective. Topics such as the narration of the sporting event will be discussed; football as a "total social fact"; sport as a factor in creating and changing national identities; the cultural hybridization that generates new landscapes.
