AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the student will acquire basic written and oral skills (between Level A2 and Level B1 of the Common European Language Framework) of the French language to answer the demand in the tourism sector, including the ability to understand simple Specific texts. The four oral and written comprehension and production skills will be developed in parallel, with particular attention to oral skills in the first year. In particular, in the theoretical module (36 hours), the course will deepen the aspects related to the development of lexical, morphosynthetic and phonetic skills more problematic for the Italian learners and will deepen themes related to the digital aspects of the tourism market, developing in parallel with the exercises (40 hours), held by French native speakers. The analysis of authentic documentation relating to the tourism sector will be the basis of the didactic material. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The student will have acquired a competence in French equal to level A2+ of the Common European Framework. Furthermore, he/she will have acquired basic knowledge in the field of tourism terrminology, with particular reference to the French area, and in particular - will know how to write short texts relating to the personal and tourist spheres correctly - will master the basic morphosyntactic structures of the French language - can converse on general and specialised topics with good formal correctness - will be able to elaborate and present a tourist itinerary TEACHING METHODS Face to face teaching, teamwork, Aulaweb SYLLABUS/CONTENT Part I: practial exercices (40 hours– 1st semester) Part II: metalinguistic reflection (36 hours– 2nd semester) Part I: language exercises (40 hours - I semester) Basic morphosyntactic arguments of the French language (check detailed programme on aulaweb) Part II: Metalinguistic reflection (36 hours - 2nd semester): tourist itineraries: vocabulary, structure, text types. The theoretical module (36 hours - 2nd semester) will examine in depth the aspects relating to the development of the lexical, morphosyntactic and phonetic skills most problematic for Italian-speaking learners, developing after the exercises (40 hours - 1st semester), held by native French-speaking experts. The entire course will follow a progression and focus on situations and problems typical of the tourist sector, with particular attention to the response to tourist demand in French. In particular, different types of communication will be gradually addressed, such as oral interaction, telephone communication, telematic communication, comprehension and production of short and simple written texts and digital hypertexts. The analysis of authentic documentation relating to the tourism sector will form the basis of the teaching material. I semester (practical exercices): September 18th - December 15th II semester (theoretical module): February 26th - June 1st Class schedule FRENCH LANGUAGE (1ST YEAR) EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The exam is organized in two parts: - test on computer (grammar, reading and listening comprehension) - oral exam. ASSESSMENT METHODS Assessment Test and oral exam. The test will verify that the student has acquired the competences developed during the whole year (listening and reading comprehension, grammar) while the oral exam will test oral production and specific knowledge and abilities acquired during the second part of the course. Students will be required to prepare an individual work. Please note: the test is held once per session, on the first available date. On the same date, only those in possession of a replacement certificate for the test may take the oral test.
