The course is divided in two parts. Students will follow practical French language lessons during the 1st semester (40 hours). In the second semester, “Modulo teorico” lessons (36 hours) will concentrate on lexical, morphosyntaxical and phonetic difficulties for Italian speakers and speakers of other languages belonging to the class
At the end of the course, the student will acquire a written and oral command of the French language between level B1 and level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages that will allow him to respond to tourism demand, including the ability to manipulate and process Texts of tourist communication. The four oral and written comprehension and production skills will be developed in parallel, with particular attention to the skills written in the second anniversary. In particular, in the theoretical module (36 hours), the course will deepen topics related to the textual typologies of tourist communication, developing in close collaboration with the 40-hour tutorials held by French native speakers. The analysis of authentic documentation relating to the tourism sector will be the basis of the didactic material.
The objectives are:
- increase students' awareness of the analysis of the different text types in the field of tourism, with particular attention to written types (publicity, administrative, advertising speeches, etc.).
- use tourism-specific terminology in French and adapt communicative strategies to the various textual types.
- create and be able to consult tourist glossaries in several languages.
- use the basic and specific linguistic structures of tourism in French.

Part I: linguistic exercises (40 hours - I semester)

The theoretical module (36 hours, 2nd semester) will examine in depth the aspects relating to the development of the lexical, morphosyntactic and phonetic skills most problematic for Italian-speaking learners, developing after the exercises (40 hours - 1st semester), held by native French-speaking experts.
The contents will be illustrated starting from the analysis, in class with the students, of authentic documents, in order to allow students to improve their knowledge of tourist discourse. The analysis of authentic documents relating to the tourism sector will form the basis of the teaching material.
The course bibliography will be given at the beginning of the course and published on Aulaweb.
Office hours: The student reception is scheduled on Tuesdays from 2 to 3 pm at the teacher's office, located in the French section, 5th floor, Palazzo Serra (Piazza Santa Sabina 2). Only in presence.

I and II semesters
Oral interview and presentation of a terminology form of a French term and its Italian equivalent. The form is to be sent to the lecturer at least 5 days before the exam.
Oral interview where oral production skills and knowledge of the topics covered by the theoretical module and the lecture will be tested. An oral presentation of individual work will be required.
