AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The police activities and the powers of the public prosecutor from crime report until the conclusion of the investigation. The preliminary hearing contents and its decision rules. The category of special proceedings, and their interconnection with the "ordinary" process. The trial dynamics with specific reference to evidence law. The characteristics of the appeal proceedings and of the proceedings before the Supreme Court. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The teaching of criminal procedural law II (split A-L) aims to provide students with extensive notions and jurisprudential insights on criminal procedural law with specific reference to the following topics: Crime report and its registration; Preliminary investigations with particular attention to the activity carried out in this phase by the police, the public prosecutor and the defendant The precautionary measure proceedings; The dismissal proceedings; The different hypotesis of prosecution; The contents and forms of the preliminary hearing as well as the decision-making rules underlying the ruling of no place to proceed and the committal for trial; The dynamics of the trial with specific reference to probative instruction; Special judgments and their interconnections with the “ordinary” trial; The ordinary and extraordinary appeal remedies.
