    OVERVIEW

    Aim of the course is to provide the basics of the principal imaging diagnostic techniques and their indications, as well as a brief outline of the techniques and use of radiotherapy

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Identification of health care interventions in pre-, intra-, and postoperative phases of the principal abdominal and pelvic surgical operations.

    Identification of intra- and interprofessional relationships in the management of the clinical practice.

    Knowledge of methodological principles and planning of education of patient and caregiver.

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Knowledge of physical principles of imaging diagnostic techniques and radiotherapy

    Knowledge of the basics of radioprotection of the patient, caregiver, and exposed professional

    Knowledge of necessary precautions for the patient, caregiver, and professional exposed to high magnetic fields (MR)

    Knowledge of contraindications and precautions in the use of contrast media; knowledge of symptoms of allergic reactions to contrast media and devices to be used in case of appearance of these symptoms

    Knowledge of modalities of preparation of the patient for the prescribed imaging diagnostic examination

    Knowledge of the role of the different imaging techniques in the most common pediatric diseases

    Basic knowledge of radiotherapy techniques and their principal indications in children

    Ionizing radiation techniques

             Diagnostic and interventional angiography

     

    Non-ionizing radiation techniques

    Brief outline of radiotherapy

     

    Basics of radioprotection

     

    Principles of the nature and use of contrast media

     

    Preparation of the patient for the principal imaging diagnostic examinations

     

    Indications and role of the principal imaging diagnostic techniques in the most common pediatric diseases
