AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to provide students with the basic elements useful for understanding the functioning of the organization of companies and other social institutions.

Deepen the knowledge relating to biomaterials in all their aspects, to braces for all ages in relation to the biomechanical approach and the procedures with which the orthopedic technician applies, measures and tests the brace on the patient. Acquire notions on the organization of the orthopedic techniques company.

Il corso mira ai seguenti obiettivi:

1. fornire criteri e strumenti di progettazione organizzativa applicabili a livello delle Aziende che operano all’interno del Servizio Sanitario Nazionale;
2. offrire un costante collegamento tra leggi e vincoli di natura economica ed economico-aziendale e strumenti capaci di garantire un contributo stabile ed efficace da parte dei vari partecipanti all´organizzazione con l’ausilio di opportune esemplificazioni in ambito sanitario. Al termine dell'insegnamento, lo studente sarà in grado di conoscere, valutare criticamente, distinguere, descrivere analiticamente e spiegare il funzionamento dell'organizzazione di un'azienda attraverso le metodologie di analisi dei processi organizzativi e gestionali acquisite.

The course is held in the first semester through lectures that will make use of slide projections available on Aulaweb and discussions on in-depth topics.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

1. The company system. The object of the company organization
Definitions: organization, firm, enterprise, system. Corporate balance. The possible legal forms of enterprise. The fundamental variables: organizational structure, organizational power, operational mechanisms. Organizational models and corporate resources (human, technical, financial).
2. The companies of the National Health Service
The organizations in the SSN. The division of competencies. Corporateisation in public health: regulatory references, purposes, tools. Corporate development, competition, cooperation. The managerial autonomy of companies. The structure and bodies of the health authorities. The departmental model.
3. The organizational structure
The various types of organization (unitary hierarchical, functional, divisional, matrix, project). Staff functions and line functions. The principle of hierarchy. The division of labour. Choosing the best structure. Organizational responses in the new environmental context.
4. Organizational power
Definition of power. The legitimacy of power. Power in productive organizations. Role of manager and executive. Management styles (authoritarian, participatory). Authority and leadership.
5. operational mechanisms
Coordination and integration mechanisms. Vision, mission, planning, programming. The management of organizational conflicts. Process organization. Management and development of human resources. Evaluation mechanisms. Motivation mechanisms. Reward and sanction mechanisms. Control mechanisms.
6. The organizational culture. The relationship with the environment.
The "soft" approach to organizations. Organizations and the environment.
7. The characteristics of modern productive organization.
Total quality strategies. The Toyota model.
