    OVERVIEW

    Contemporary Italian Literature studies Italian literary production from the end of the Nineteenth century to the present day, with particular attention to the historical framework and analysis of the text.

     

     

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The main objective of the course is to strengthen the knowledge of contemporary Italian literature. The contents will be presented with a interdisciplinary approach. The students will refine their skills to analyse texts, which will progressively enable them to become independent in their future professional activity.

    At the end of the course the student:

    will have acquired adequate knowledge of the history of Contemporary Italian Literature;

    will have developed autonomous ability to examine and analyse texts;

    will be able to use the disciplinary skills acquired in the future professional activity.

     

    PREREQUISITES

    No prerequisite.

    TEACHING METHODS

    Lessons will take place face to face.

    Contemporary Italian Literature is in any case divided into lectures carried out by the teacher who will retrace the history of Italian Literature of the Twentieth century, accompanied by the reading of a choice of texts and practice.

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT

    1. Contemporary Italian Literature: History of Contemporary Italian Literature.

    The history of Italian literature of the last century will be retraced, with the main authors and a selection of texts and practice.

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

    The exam will take place orally. To access the oral exam, students must have attended the workshop.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    The student must demonstrate a good knowledge of contemporary Italian literature, history and texts, according to the indications provided in class.
    
    The questions to which the student will be required to answer include being able to synthesize and describe the main Italian literary phenomena of the Twentieth century and to be able to analyze and contextualize authors and texts debated during the lessons.
    
    Non-attending students will have to agree with the teacher on the program and study methods that ensure the acquisition of the skills required for the course.
