Prerequisites (for future units)
The course deals with the basic structures of the general science of self-formation, education and cultural instruction of the human being.
Attainment of the basic notions pertaining to the general science of human education and training.
The acquisition of appropriate knowledges and abilities in the process of comprehension regarding the scientific foundations of Pedagogy General and its objects of study is revolved to improve the skills to understand, interpret and deal with the problems associated with the self-formation, education and cultural instruction of the human being.
Lessons are conducted in the presence of the teacher and have mainly character of lectures. Within the course, group activities and seminars can be provided.
The program of the course will consist, mainly, in the following contents: self-formation, education and cultural instruction as objects of study of General Pedagogy; the questions of logic, language and method in Pedagogy; the Pedagogical Sciences, the Educational Sciences and the Formation Sciences; intra-disciplinarity, inter-disciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity in Pedagogy.

Office hours: Students reception is weekly. Students are invited to write an email to the Teacher, in advance, at paolo.levrero[at]unige.it, indicating their telephone number. This is in order to be able to agree on the methods of receipt. At the beginning of each semester will be provided – both here and on the AulaWeb page – the overall details regarding the reception.

Exam is written. The written exam is finalized to verify acquired knowledge by the Students and their critical capabilities in the elaboration of the learned contents.
Evaluation criteria: relevance of contents, argumentation of acquired knowledge, logical coherence, language properties, critical-problematic ability.
The written exam, lasting 60 minutes, is organized into a small number of open questions. During the course of the examination, students can consult books in the program.
Students have to attend the exam with the program of the current academic year in, even if they are enrolled in previous academic years. In the case of insufficient results, students will have to attend the exam again in the same manner.
Any change in the usual teaching activities (classes and office hours) will be reported in the AulaWeb page of the Course. On the AulaWeb page, all the information relating to the organization and carrying out of the course activities will be detailed.
Students with DSA, disability or other special educational needs are recommended to contact the professor at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching and exam methods which, according to the course’s objectives, consider the modalities individual learning and set suitable compensatory tools.
Students from abroad are invited to contact the teacher in order to clarify and agree on the aspects relating to the didactic organization, preparation and methods of conducting the exams.
