|SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR||MED/48|
|MODULES||This unit is a module of:|
The main contents are the EBP processes in the health care and how to facilitate the scientific research. The discipline seeks to answer specific questions in rehabilitative practice by developing knowledge on Evidence Based concepts, scientific research in rehabilitation, bibliographic research, databases, web sites.
The student should be able to critically evaluate published studies related to clinical rehabilitation, management of organizational processes and human resources, demonstrating that they possess the ability to apply to professional choices. The student should be able to conceive, design, adapt and implement clinical research projects.
The discipline EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH IN REHABILITATION AND TEST-BASED REHABILITATION METHODOLOGY MED / 48 aims to respond to the training need of the graduate about the methodology of clinical practice based on evidence of efficacy (EBCP) to be implemented both in their private clinical practice or as a tool to guide clinical organizational strategies in the health sector. With regard to the potential teaching role of the graduate in Rehabilitation Sciences, since it is a competence that crosses the various specialist clinical skills, EBCP competence constitutes a fundamental element to be integrated into the clinical reasoning taught, in the context of various specialistic fields in rehabilitation.
The course aims to develop knowledge and skills in the learner to search for scientific information in a targeted way, to critically evaluate it and consciously apply it in the specific clinical context in which it operates, in line with the principles of clinical practice based on efficacy evidence.
At the end of the course and after an appropriate period of study and practice, the student will be able to:
- Getting to know the pyramid 5.0
- Find your way around the main databases of scientific literature
- Learn to ask a clinical question
- Know the main study designs and their application
- Know the critical appraisal process
- Know the reporting guidelines and methodologies
- Knowing how to critically evaluate and apply the guidelines
- Know the literature review methodologies (Fiction, Systematics and Scoping), their role and their limitations
Lectures and exercises with moments of interaction and discussion in the class group Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods which, respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments.

- Research methodologies of scientific information
- Architecture of clinical research (classification of information, qualitative, quantitative and mixed research, descriptive and analytical observational studies, experimental studies)
- Bias and critical appraisal tools of clinical trials
- Literature reporting guidelines and methodologies
