CODE 72350 ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 2 8784 (L-9) - LA SPEZIA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-INF/01 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION LA SPEZIA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: FOUNDATIONS OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The module is designed to introduce the most common electronic components, including diodes, bipolar transistors, field effect transistors, operational amplifiers. On successful completion of this module, students will possess the skills and the tools for analyzing circuits based on these electronic components, knowing how to characterize fundamental applications such as rectifiers, amplifiers and non-linear circuits. TEACHING METHODS The course is based on traditional classroom lessons also providing exercises and their solution. During the lectures, the PSPICE circuit simulator will sometimes be used to compare the numerical solution students with the anlytical approach involving approximations. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Fundamentals of electronic circuits: bias and operating point. Diodes models and circuits (rectifiers, clippers, voltage regulators) Use of the PSPICE simulator for circuit analysis Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJTs) and MOS Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) models for large-signal and small-signal applications Basic amplifier configurations using BJT and MOSFET transistors Operational Amplifiers: characteristics, parameters and use of feedback (negative and positive) Use of operational amplifiers for linear and non-linear applications.
