This course provides a perspective on robotics technologies applied to (and inspired by) themes of biomedical research and practice. These include research in sensory-motor systems, advanced surgical and diagnostic techniques, brain and body machine interfaces, prosthetics and rehabilitation robotics. The course aims at reaching an appropriate balance between basic notions and applications. Students are requested to engage in a number of activities, including lecturing and develop research projects, both individually and as teams
The purpose of this course is to provide a perspective on robotic technologies applied to (and inspired by) themes of biomedical research and practice.
This is an introductory course in the application of robotics technologies to a variety of biomedical activities and research areas. The first part of the course is intended to provide a background of formal instruments for understanding control of biomedical robotic devices, biological movement control and their possible relations. The second part is devoted to in-depth analysis of the following specific applications:
After completing this course the students will be able to:
Modeling and control of robot architectures
> Lessons on the topics mentied above (see teaching methods), including also discussions with invited speakers, experts in the field of those topics.
> Example/practice - Students are requested to engage in a number of activities, including lecturing and develop software/ research projects on the topic of the course, both individually and as teams
This is an introductory course in the application of robotics technologies to a variety of biomedical activities and research areas. Topics:
Readings (and software material) will be distributed via the course website.

All class schedules are posted on the EasyAcademy portal.
Students will be evaluated based on
a) Assignments related to the robotics topics presented in the the course
b) Their active participation to the second part of the courses, where students are request to present research articles on specific robotic applications and/or discuss with invited speakers (experts in the field).
c) final exam
The assessment consist of two parts:
> continuous assessment;
> Final exam
Students will be evaluated based on
a) Assigments related to the robotics topics presented in the the course
b) Their active participation to and/or knwolege of the topics of the second part of the courses, where students are request to present research articles on specific robotic applications and/or discuss with the teacher and invited speakers (experts in the field).
