    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The course provides knowledge and skills concerning antennas, with reference to both their working principles and their use in different applicative fields. The following main topics will be addressed. Fundamentals of electromagnetic radiation and antenna parameters. Linear antennas, aperture antennas, reflector antennas, printed antennas. Antenna Arrays. MIMO systems for multimedia communications. Smart and reconfigurable antennas. Wide band antennas for high–speed internet links. Antenna systems for industrial, civil and biomedical applications

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The "Antennas" module provides knowledge and skills concerning antennas, with reference to both their working principles and their use in different applicative fields. The following main topics will be addressed. Fundamentals of electromagnetic radiation and antenna parameters. Linear antennas, aperture antennas, reflector antennas, printed antennas. Antenna Arrays. MIMO systems for multimedia communications. Smart and reconfigurable antennas. Wide band antennas for high–speed internet links. Antenna systems for industrial, civil and biomedical applications. The aim is to allow students to understand how to deal with antenna analysis and design.

    Fundamentals of electromagnetic radiation. Antenna radiation parameters. Linear antennas (dipoles, monopoles, etc). Aperture antennas. Reflector antennas. Printed antennas. Antenna Arrays. MIMO, smart and reconfigurable antennas. Link between antennas.

    Students will have to answer questions asked by the commission concerning the topics presented during the course lectures.
