CODE 103909 ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 CREDITS 5 cfu anno 1 INTERNET AND MULTIMEDIA ENGINEERING 10378 (LM-27) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR IUS/13 TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The teaching course is aimed at providing the basic notions of European Union law to students attending the Master Multimedia Engineering course, both as regards the institutional structure of the organization and the decision-making processes, and as regards to policies related to technological innovation and digitalization of the market. This approach aims to introduce an interdisciplinary element in the technical and specialist training offered by the degree. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Provide technical students with the legal framework of Eu intervention in the sector they are approaching from a technical point of view. The interdisciplinary approach will empower graduates with new and useful skills for the job market and it will give students a greater awareness on the conseuqences deriving from the use and functioning (malfunctioning) of the technology. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The program is divided into two sections: a first part dedicated to the institutional and general part of EU law, characterized by the study of the structure of the international organization, the sources and tools of judicial protection envisaged by it and an introduction to the market single; a second part dedicated to European intervention in the sector of new technologies, with particular reference to those of spatial origin. The teaching aims to let students achieve: - knowledge of the institutional structure and operating rules of the EU; - knowledge of the system of sources and of the EU regulatory procedure, as well as of the tools of judicial protection; - knowledge of the principles and rules relating to the single market; - ability to apply this knowledge to concrete cases; - ability to interpret and systematically read the legal rules of the European Union system. - interdisciplinary knowledge necessary for access to the labor market PREREQUISITES no legal pre-requisite requested TEACHING METHODS Teaching is offered by lectures directly held by the Professor, for a total of 50 hours, during which the main theoretical notions of European Union law will be presented and analyzed with specific reference to technological innovation and European intervention on space, but examples and practical cases will also be proposed and discussed. Texts of sentences and normative texts of particular relevance and usefulness for the understanding of the topics will be attached in Aulaweb. Occasionally scholars and experts of the subject or professionals may be invited to carry out a lesson on topics of particular interest and relevance, also in order to allow students to acquire greater awareness of the concrete and applicative dimension of the subject. The evaluation takes into account both the parts of the exam. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam aims to verify the student's actual knowledge and acquisition of the theoretical basic notions as well as his ability to identify and apply the reference standards to specific concrete cases.
