CODE 101447 ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 CREDITS 9 cfu anno 2 INGEGNERIA ELETTRICA 8731 (LM-28) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-IND/32 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW Most of the electrical energy is not used in the form in which it is produced, transmitted and distributed: it is converted according to the needs of the user, to maximize its performance. Power electronics brings together knowledge of static conversion of electricity in industrial applications, for renewable energies, for transport and domestic, and in particular for the regulation of speed and torque in electrical drives in these areas. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Synthesis, modelling and simulation of systems for the management of renewable energy. Digital control of electronic power systems. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course the student must demonstrate that: know how to describe the mathematical model of a complex electrical system containing converters and related control and modulation systems and carry out simulations for the verification of operation with the support of an adequate calculation tool know how to develop in the laboratory the power system analyzed at the previous point, test its operation, perform the necessary measures and diagnose its correct functioning TEACHING METHODS The teaching methods are oriented to stimulate the practical interest of the students, the aptitude for team work, the ability to solve problems. The lessons, held in computer lab and hardware laboratory, provide for direct involvement in the activities of students and teachers, also through division of tasks and responsibilities. SYLLABUS/CONTENT PROGRAMME/CONTENT Calculation code to be used for modelling and simulation Applying code to subsystems Model integration Testing and simulation C programming language for real-time systems VHDL language for FPGA devices Application to power electronics systems TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD LUIS RAMON VACCARO Ricevimento: Any time by appointment (0103352180, luis.vaccaro@unige.it) PAOLO POZZOBON Ricevimento: Any time by appointment (3472335477, 0103352181, paolo.pozzobon@unige.it) Exam Board LUIS RAMON VACCARO (President) ANDREA FORMENTINI MASSIMILIANO PASSALACQUA STEFANO SAVIO PAOLO POZZOBON (President Substitute) LESSONS LESSONS START https://corsi.unige.it/8731/p/studenti-orario Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Oral and practical laboratory exam.
