OVERVIEW

The course is divided into 2 modules "International Relations and Business Development" and "Services and Skills for Internationalization" and introduces the student to an operational approach about the internationalization activities of enterprises.

Starting from the analysis of the first phases of the internationalization process, it’s essential the identification of the most appropriate foreign markets, the construction of fundamental networks of institutional and commercial relations, then the deepening of procedures for foreign countries, information sources and useful services available to businesses. 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main purpose of the course is to provide students with a theoretical but also practical basis on the international activities of companies in foreign markets.

The examination of the countries to develop business, the acquisition of contacts and information  as well as the knowledge of the main internationalization procedures (export/import/relocation/...) will be accompanied by the presentation of case histories and exercises.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Module 1 aims at making students familiar with the main steps of the internationalization process of enterprises, also with the support of case histories.

They will start with the evaluation of the exportability of the products and/or services the enterprise is interested in offering on the foreign markets, to understand which are the Countries more suitable to their products/services; then they will examine the organization of the enterprise to point out its strengths and weaknesses and to propose an international marketing strategy.

Internationl politics, finance, legal, fiscal, banking, communication and cultural intermediation will also be matter of close examination during the course.

Entrepreneurs and managers of international companies will be involved as testimonials.

The module consists of 18 hours including lectures and practical exercise/research also for the purposes of exam preparation.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will consist of a written report (for attending students) to be prepared and delivered according to the agreements taken with the teacher during the module: it will consist in the realization of a short report on an agreed foreign country.

For those not attending the exam will be oral on the program indicated on Aulaweb.

 

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Exam details will be given during the lessons and also on Aulaweb.

Written test will be a verification of the path taken by students and will consist in the realization of a short report to be taken as the basis of a company business plan for internationalization.

The oral exam will focus on the topics included in the program avaible on Aulaweb.
