OVERVIEW

Among the classical disciplines, ethics provides us with a method for identifying and addressing the moral dilemmas arising by the rapid development of biomedical technology. Indeed, only a profound synergy between technical-scientific and ethical skills can fully qualify a healthcare professional able to take care of the patients, ensure their central role in the relationship of care and the respect for their will.

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The module aims to introduce students to the different deontological and ethical issues  arising in the practice of medicine.

TEACHING METHODS

The students along with faculty facilitators will then break into small groups for case studies and discussion of principles and practices of medical ethics and medical professionalism. Frontal lessons aided by presentations and exercises. The lectures will be in an interactive format and students are strongly encouraged to ask questions and insert comments.
