It can be known, defined and mapped. The current methods in order to conserve habitats to keep them intact and to implement restoration methods are presented. Flora and vegetation are excellent tools for environmental monitoring, achievable through different techniques on a case-by-case basis. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course has the following learning goals: Acquisition of the bases for the study of flora and habitat for environmental monitoring through different methods. Basic elements of GIS cartography and its application for floristic and vegetational cartography. Different methods of environmental monitoring.
