AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The topics of the course focus the pathogenetic aspects of the most important endocrine diseases involving the various apparatus and specific pathologies, highlighting the diagnostic and therapeutic areas in which nurses can make an important contribution

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The topics of the course provide the knowledge of the physiological bases of the endocrine system and the treatment of the main endocrine diseases. In particular it will be focused the physiology and pathology of the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, thyroid,  parathyroid, adrenal glands and gonads.

During the course the students will be provided with the elements needed for a pediatric nurse to handle a pediatric endocrinology problem

Lectures with interactive discussion on the main topics in pediatric endocrinology

5 Gonads: physiology and main diseases

No textbook, I will give to the students the lecture presentations on power point system

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The final course examination consists of a written and an oral session.

The main purpose of the final course examination is testing the understanding of the main physiopathological elements of the endocrine system and the knowledge of the main endocrine diseases from a pediatric nurse point of view. 

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Through the exposition of the topics discussed by the learner, the teacher may have a picture on the level of compression of the topics themselves, on the level of culture, on the capacity of exposure and on the interest raised.

Obviously, the primary goal is to evaluate whether the learner has understood and internalized the lessons learned above all in terms of diagnosis and therapy of the most important pediatric diseases
