AIMS AND CONTENT
To know the principles for the management of the clinical situations of emergency and urgency, applying the necessary interventions of first haid.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
To acquire the knowledge on the correct management of the nociceptive and neuropathic pain according to the actual guidelines with particular respect to the use of the opioids according to WHO analgesic ladder. The student must also know the use of the antidotes for the treatment of acute opioid toxicity. To know the use of some classes of drugs used in the therapy of the acute and chronic asthma with particular respect to the appropriateness, clinical employment, evaluation of the adverse effects. Further aim is to know how to appraise the necessity of a treatment of emergency of the anaphylactic shock through the use of adrenaline of which the student must adequately know the dosing and the method of administration. To know the essential drugs used in the various types of shock (cardiogenic, septic or hypovolemic shock) To possess the notions of base on the active drugs on the C.N.S., with particular respect to the use of the benzodiazepines and the drugs used for the treatment of the epilepsies. The student must have adequate knowledge of the antidotes to use in case of poisoning from drugs, foods or substances of abuse. Finally, aim of the course is the knowledge of the principles of base of Pharmacovigilance, particularly the definition of adverse drug reaction (ADR) and the formality of signaling of the suspicious ADRs to the National Service of Pharmacovigilance
The frontal lessons are held with the help of slides that are made available to all the students on Aulaweb. During the frontal lessons, through interactive teaching, it is tried to correlate the educational programmers of the previous years.

The check of the correct ability to apply the acquired knowledges happens during the oral test. Any passive memorization is not recommended, while the ability to actively apply the knowledges acquired during the course through the reasoning and the synthesis is valorized.
