The Assessments are all procedures aimed at gathering relevant information to set up and monitor the Rehabilitation interventions. It makes possible to formulate a rehabilitation diagnosis, define goals, and plan an intervention. In addition, it allows you to monitor the transformations that occur and, if necessary, modify the objectives, interventions or project.
AIMS AND CONTENT
The student should be able to critically evaluate published studies related to clinical rehabilitation, management of organizational processes and human resources, demonstrating that they possess the ability to apply to professional choices. The student should be able to conceive, design, adapt and implement clinical research projects.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
In recent years there has been a real technological and digital revolution that has heavily influenced our daily life and has significantly pervaded the clinical environment. The availability of low-cost technological systems favors the use of objective patient assessment and monitoring methodologies, both in the institutional setting and at home. Rehabilitation increasingly uses and will use these technologies to optimize patient treatment. The course aims to respond to the educational need of the graduate in the knowledge of the main hardware and software instruments and technologies for patient evaluation and monitoring, with the aim of developing in the learner the basic knowledge relating to the main hardware and software technologies for. Clinical assessment in rehabilitation, favouring a critical ability to choose the right device for the various rehabilitation areas.
At the end of the course and after an appropriate period of study and practice, the student will be able to:
- Know the current opportunities and limits of application of surface electromyography in the rehabilitation field
- Know the current opportunities and limits of application of the different force measurement systems
- Know the current opportunities and limits of application of inertial sensors (IMU) in the rehabilitation field
- Know the current opportunities and limits of application of immersive virtual reality in the rehabilitation field
Lectures and laboratory exercises with moments of interaction and discussion in the class group. Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods which, respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments.
- Surface electromyography in the rehabilitation clinic
Techniques for preparing the subject and positioning the electrodes
Bipolar, array and matrix electrodes
Elements of surface EMG signal analysis
Myoelectric and clinical fatigue
- Inertial sensors in the evaluation of movement
Applications in the ecological field
- The force sensors
Piezoresistive film sensors
Evaluation of the maximum and delivery control of force
- Immersive virtual reality in rehabilitation, current applications and future developments
Students will be provided with the slides of the lessons to be used as a study guide. In-depth materials may be indicated, freely downloadable from the web, on the basis of educational needs
TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD
MARCO TESTA (President)
LAURA BONZANO (President and Coordinator of Integrated Course)
Lessons: from march to july
The exam is oral or oral / written Exam dates will be published on Aulaweb.
The exams of the integrated courses are held in a single moment and the Examination Commissions, chaired by the Coordinators of the integrated courses or by their delegates, must be composed in accordance with the provisions of Article 29 c.5 and c. 6 of the University Didactic Regulations. As per the Degree Course's Didactic Regulations, exams can only be taken in the periods dedicated to this and called exam sessions. The moments of verification usually cannot coincide with the periods in which the training activities take place.
The interview will be aimed at ascertaining the achievement of the training objectives and an acquired basic knowledge of the main hardware and software technologies for clinical evaluation in rehabilitation and of the critical capacity in the choice of such instruments for the various rehabilitation areas. Details on how to prepare for the exam (oral or oral / written) and the degree of depth of each topic will be communicated during the lessons.
Students with SLD or other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree on the written or oral modality with the teacher, by contacting the teachers at least 10 days before the exam. They can also take advantage of 30% additional time.
