CODE 111360 ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 CREDITS 9 cfu anno SCIENZE DEL TURISMO: IMPRESA, CULTURA E TERRITORIO 9912 (L-15) - IMPERIA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR L-LIN/04 LANGUAGE French TEACHING LOCATION IMPERIA SEMESTER 2° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The French language course aims to provide students with written and oral fluency corresponding to CEFR level B1 of the French language to meet demand in the tourism sector, including the ability to understand simple texts. The four skills of oral and written comprehension and production are developed, with particular emphasis on oral skills and through the development of projects developed and presented by the students themselves. In particular, the theoretical module of the second semester includes the creation of tourist itineraries in French linked to the Ligurian or French territory, which the students develop on multimedia support (power point and prezi) and terminology skills (terminology cards, use of terminology tools. The language practice course, on the other hand, will focus on the acquisition of morphosyntactic and communicative skills in French, with particular attention to tourist contexts of use. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES By the end of the course, students will have acquired a written and oral command of the French language at level B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages, which will enable them to respond to demand in the tourism sector, including the ability to manipulate and elaborate texts specific to tourism communication. The four skills of oral and written comprehension and production will be developed in parallel. The analysis of authentic documentation relating to the tourism sector will form the basis of the teaching material. In a broader perspective, the course aims to develop the following general objectives: Provide quality, equitable and inclusive education and learning opportunities for all Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls Reduce inequality within and between nations AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The main objectives of the course are To provide basic written and oral command of the French language to meet the demand in the cultural tourism sector, including the ability to understand simple specific texts. To bring students to a level of proficiency in French at B1 level of the Common European Framework for Languages. The four skills of oral and written comprehension and production will be developed in parallel, with particular emphasis on oral skills. In particular, in the theoretical module (54 hours), teaching will deepen aspects relating to the development of lexical, morphosyntactic and phonetic skills that are more problematic for Italian-speaking learners and will explore issues relating to the digital aspects of the tourist market, developing hand in hand with the exercises (60 hours), held by native French-speaking experts. In particular, the student will - will master the basic and specific linguistic structures of tourism in French. - will master the basic morphosyntactic structures of the French language - can converse on general and specialised topics with good formal correctness - can elaborate and present a tourist itinerary - will be able to recognise the specific features of different types of text in the field of tourism, with particular attention to written types (publicity, administrative, advertising speeches, etc.) - will be able to use tourism-specific terminology in French and will be able to adapt communicative strategies to the various text types. - will know how to consult tourism glossaries in several languages. PREREQUISITES The A2 level is necessary to be able to follow the lessons. During the first lesson, a level test will be carried out to check that students have reached the A2 level of French. In the event that students do not pass the test, an online course of 40 hours in complete autonomy will be held, following which the language level attained will be checked again. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Part I: language exercises (60 hours - I semester) Basic morphosyntactic arguments of the French language (check detailed programme on aulaweb) Part II: Metalinguistic reflection (54 hours - 2nd semester) : - Tourist itineraries: vocabulary, structure, textual types. - Terminology of the French of tourism The entire course will follow a progression and focus on situations and problems typical of the tourist sector, with particular attention to the response to tourist demand in French. In particular, different types of communication will be gradually addressed, such as oral interaction, telephone communication, telematic communication, comprehension and production of short and simple written texts and digital hypertexts. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The course bibliography will be communicated at the beginning of the lectures and published on Aulaweb. The syllabus for attending and non-attending students is the same for the theory module.
