The course provides the basic knowledge for the analysis and understanding of energy systems. In particular, methods to increase the plant efficiency will be presented and the critical aspects of the power plants management will be discussed
Knowledge of power plant configurations and the effect of real operating conditions.
Knowledge of the national electricity system and of plant management.
Ability to define advantages and criticalities of energy conversion systems.
Ability to calculate the performance of the energy systems presented.
Ability to analyze and compare different renewable energy systems.
Soft Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, adaptation to the context, use of sources and aids of various kinds, critical thinking, ability to use, process and evaluate information.
The course is based on theoretical lectures and numerical calculations. Team based learning and flipped classroom technics.

Oral Examination and team project.
Students with SLD, disability or other regularly certified special educational needs are advised to contact the instructor to agree on teaching and examination methods that, in compliance with the course objectives, take into account the individual learning requirements.
The oral interview will focus on one or more questions and will have the purpose of verifying the understanding and knowledge of the topics covered, the language properties and the synthesis capacity of the students.
