OVERVIEW

The teaching approaches the topic of theatrical organization from the reflection on the role of theatre in today’s society. For this reason, it combines the themes of anthropology and those of organization: it investigates theatre as a moment in which a community gathers and mirrors itself, opening itself to the hospitality of the other, and then asks how and what it means to organize the theatrical event. From this perspective, the teaching provides a basic orientation about the institutional, economic, organizational, and cultural policy aspects that have historically and currently characterized live performance and prompts reflection around the existing and potential forms of interaction between live performance and tourism.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The theater, both in the places (from the oldest settlements, Roman theaters, historical theaters, to conventional spaces and the use of monumental or landscaping) as well as the typologies (folklore, sacred representations, stable programming, festivals and events) Leaves on the territory the signs of a presence that is always the form of the community, of a socialization of problems and perspectives; On the other hand a concept of entertainment endowed with end-to-end consumption has no historical impact on the life of the territory.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

- Ability to read theatrical phenomena according to socio-anthropological and economic-organizational perspectives, combining the dimension of generating cultural value with that of good management and the production of economic value;
- Knowledge of the main production, distribution, and promotional structures of the performing arts;
- Ability to understand the role and importance of live performance in the context of tourism, grasping its potential and foreshadowing its developments.

TEACHING METHODS

Face-to-face lectures, with the aid of audiovisual materials.

Due to the health measures imposed by the so-called “Phase 3”, detailed information regarding teaching activities and exams will be provided through Aulaweb.
