CODE 83678 ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 CREDITS 9 cfu anno 2 SCIENZE DEL TURISMO: IMPRESA, CULTURA E TERRITORIO 9912 (L-15) - IMPERIA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR L-ART/04 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION IMPERIA SEMESTER 1° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course aims to develop the history and enhancement of the territory also through the organization of the museum and the widespread museum. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The main objectives of the course are: to produce knowledge of individual territorial case studies for the purpose of their cultural and touristic enhancement. The course will attempt to propose examples of a widespread museum and examples of valorisation of museum resources on individual territorial units. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The educational objectives of the course aim to provide students with a history of museums and the museum system in Italy and, more specifically, to illustrate the history of the Ligurian territory through the history and knowledge of cultural heritage, the presence of travelers and provide basic elements of museum organization. Key themes relating to the analysis of the museum’s place in society - investigated by looking at museums’ history, and at changing ideas about them as sites of knowledge and education - lie at the heart of this course. The debate animating the contemporary museum discourse and practice (with reference to decolonising practice, museum ethics and the postdigital museum) will be addressed. Lectures will also address the issue of the culture of sustainability, with a focus on local sustainable development with the promotion of a museum ecosystem. PREREQUISITES Basic knowledge of territorial and historical culture is required. TEACHING METHODS Classes are held in presence. Attendance, although not compulsory, is recommended. The lecturer, at the specific request of a student (by e-mail), may allow him/her to follow classes remotely via “Teams” platform and to view class recordings SYLLABUS/CONTENT Program for students taking the course: Part I: History of collecting, the birth of museums and the affirmation of the concepts of safeguarding and transmitting cultural heritage; Part II: History of the enhancement and protection of cultural heritage in the area; Part III: Practical exercises for the enhancement of the territory. Class schedule ENHANCEMENT OF CULTURAL AND MUSEUMS HERITAGE EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Before the final exam, a couple of intermediate tests are planned, focused respectively on the economics of cultural heritage and museum management (if passed with a grade higher than 24/30, the two tests will respectively substitute the study of the volumes by A. Bollo and N. Mandarano in view of the final exam). The final exam, preceded by another written test, compulsory, assigned and discussed with Prof. Putti, on museum enhancement in the Ligurian area, will consist of an interview on the proposed essays and reading and in-depth texts, also with the help of the lessons reported on Aulaweb. ASSESSMENT METHODS Knowledge will be assessed with a mark out of thirty, half of which will be assigned for the written exercise, while the other half will be assigned having satisfied three questions on the texts or essays suggested.
