OVERVIEW

The course aims to develop the history and enhancement of the territory also through the organization of the museum and the widespread museum.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main objectives of the course are: to produce knowledge of individual territorial case studies for the purpose of their cultural and touristic enhancement. The course will attempt to propose examples of a widespread museum and examples of valorisation of museum resources on individual territorial units.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The educational objectives of the course aim to provide students with a history of museums and the museum system in Italy and, more specifically, to illustrate the history of the Ligurian territory through the history and knowledge of cultural heritage, the presence of travelers and provide basic elements of museum organization.

Key themes relating to the analysis of the museum’s place in society - investigated by looking at museums’ history, and at changing ideas about them as sites of knowledge and education - lie at the heart of this course. The debate animating the contemporary museum discourse and practice (with reference to decolonising practice, museum ethics and the postdigital museum) will be addressed. Lectures will also address the issue of the culture of sustainability, with a focus on local sustainable development with the promotion of a museum ecosystem.
