OVERVIEW

Second-year English language teaching is annual in duration. In the first semester it consists of the lectorate (language exercises), through which students and female students acquire and consolidate language knowledge to reach level B2 Common European Framework for Languages. In the second semester, teaching consists of the theoretical module in which students and female students acquire peculiar aspects of tourist language and analyze it in real contexts.

The course delves more deeply into the nature of human communication, employing texts (novel, film, official document) as the source which must be interpreted analytically in order to identify what happens in a speech event and how and why this happens.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES IN DETAIL
Teaching aims to provide basic written and oral proficiency in English to meet the demand in the field of cultural tourism, including the ability to understand specific texts at the level between pre-intermediate and intermediate and interact in typical situations exemplified by the texts.
Teaching aims to bring students to a level of proficiency in English that is at the B2 level of the Common European Framework for Languages. The four skills of oral and written comprehension and production will be developed in parallel. At the end of the teaching, students will be expected to possess:
- Knowledge and understanding acquire adequate knowledge and an effective ability to understand the various theories of pragmatics.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding be able to apply acquired knowledge by interpreting communicative events and solving problems that arise during a human communication.
- Autonomy of judgment to be able to use both conceptually and operationally the knowledge acquired with autonomous judgment and skill in different application contexts.
- Communication skills acquire the technical language typical of the discipline to communicate clearly and unambiguously with specialist and non-specialist interlocutors. Students should be able to identify various registers and know how to adapt their idiolect to the context.
- LEARNING SKILLS Develop adequate learning skills that will enable them to continue to independently explore the main themes of the discipline especially in the work contexts in which they will be working.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

EXAMINATION MODE.
The examination is for both the first and second year in a written test and an oral interview. The grade for the first year will be averaged with the grade for the second year, which will constitute the final grade for the English Language teaching. Grades are expressed in thirtieths.
