The module of Histology, in the context of the C.I. of Anatomy and Histology, aims to integrate the knowledge of "functional histology" and cell biology by aiming to provide students with knowledge about the organization of cells and human tissues with particular attention to the connection between morphology and function.
The study of normal human histology and human anatomy, which is mutually propedeutic, must allow for a level of knowledge of the tissues, apparatus and systems of the human body, a necessary premise for the optimal understanding of motor and sports activities in all stages of life.
To Know structure, organization and function of different human tissues and morphological-functional characteristics of cells that compose them. EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS During the last lessons of the course, students are given some tests to assess the knowledge acquired. A moment of discussion with the teacher on the results of the tests follows. |
Frontal lecture
Due to emergency situations that prevent the performance of the lessons in attendance, the lessons will be carried out through the Teams platform.

Lessons will take place in the first semester of the relevant academic year
Written (Cytology) and oral Oral (Histology).examination.
In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative).
See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus.
The exam is written for the part of Cytology (quiz questions) and oral for the part of Histology.
The oral examination is always led by the holders of the course and has a duration of at least 30 minutes (typically 45 minutes). With these modes, given the long experience of examinations in the discipline, the commission is able to verify with high accuracy the achievement of learning outcomes When these are not reached, the student is invited to deepen the study and to take advantage of further explanation by the teacher.
It is possible that the emergency situations prevent the students to taking part in the examination in attendance for the final evaluation. In this case, the Teams platform will be used.
In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.
