OVERVIEW

A reading course provides the opportunity to deepen research topics dealt with by DIMA experts, which are not part of the programs of taught modules.

AIMS AND CONTENT

TEACHING METHODS

Students wishing to attend a reading course must first contact a teacher to establish a list of texts to be read, which must represent the material that could be carried out in a course delivered with frontal lessons. Each reading course proposal must be submitted in writing to the Teaching Commission well in advance of the beginning of the academic year. The teacher is required to present the reading course proposal together with

  • the number of ECTS attributed (up to a maximum of 6);
  • the detailed description of the reading course program, the reference texts, the methods of meeting with the students (which must include regular weekly meetings with all the students, these meeting are intended for discussing with the teacher the topics to be prepared for the successive week and for presenting the solutions of any exercise of the week topic) and the methods of ascertaining the profit (which must also include an oral exam on the entire program of the course);
  • the list of students who intend to participate.

The Teaching Commission of the Degree Program expresses an opinion on the received proposals, taking into account the elements listed above.
