The course is divided into two modules. In Module 66171 ELECTRICAL MACHINES students are introduced to the fundamental concepts regarding the electrical macro-components responsible for the generation and use of energy. In this context the students, through lectures, exercises and laboratories, will be able to acquire the main knowledge on the morphology and on the electrical and mathematical models of transformers, generators and electric motors in steady state conditions. Module 84373 POWER ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRIC DRIVES provides students with the knowledge of the fundamental principles of static conversion of electrical energy, of the main converters and related control methods, of the main dc and ac drives, so that the the student can acquire the ability to carry out simple numerical evaluations and manage simple mathematical models of converters and engines for calculation and simulation.
