OVERVIEW

Radiotherapy is therapy using  ionizing radiation, generally as part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells and normally delivered by a linear accelerator. It can be associated with surgery, chemotherapy and / or hormone therapy to ensure the best control of the disease.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To know the base of radiotherapy, through the basic concepts of radiobiology and organ radiopathology, clinical indications, expected toxicity and expected clinical outcomes of the most common cancer diseases.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aims of the course are to

- educate students about relationship with patient, to undertand the main radiotherapy techniques and to know the base of clinical radiation oncology

- to know the state of art on Nuclear Medicine

TEACHING METHODS

Lessons with powerpoint slides and educational videos
