AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to provide a basic understanding about the medicinal chemistry strategies as well as the computational methods exploring the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic profile of drug candidates

TEACHING METHODS

The course is developed with theoretical and practical lessons (16 hours).

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

  • Rational design of hit compounds
  • Medicinal chemistry methods to optimize the pharmacodinamic and pharmacokinetic profile of drug candidates.
  • Computational methods to manage in silico drugs and biological targets.
  • Homology modeling and molecular docking techniques.
  • QSAR analyses and pharmacophore searching methods.
  • Virtual screening and molecular dynamic simulations: case studies.
  • In silico evaluation of the bioavailability and safety profile of drugs.
