CODE 110563 ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 CREDITS 2 cfu anno 1 TECNICHE DI RADIOLOGIA MEDICA, PER IMMAGINI E RADIOT 9294 (L/SNT3) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR BIO/17 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: ANATOMY-HISTOLOGY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to provide the student with a complete view on the organization of human tissues and the cells that compose them, and notions on how this organization is instrumental in ensuring the full homeostatic functionality of tissues. The student must acquire the ability to observe and then describe with suitable language some histological structures; in the specific case, what has been found by the observation microscopic. Expected learning results: Knowledge of investigation methods in cytology and histology. Knowledge of the terminology of the discipline. Knowledge of the subcellular, cellular and tissue structures of the human body Knowing how to recognize and describe in an appropriate way a histological structure in optical microscopy, starting from its cellular organization. TEACHING METHODS Class teaching and practical exercises for the recognition of histological preparations It is possible that the method of conducting the lessons will change due to emergency situations that prevent the performance of the lessons in attendance. In this case the lessons will be carried out through the Teams platform. The oral exam is aimed at evaluating the learning of knowledge related to the topics illustrated and discussed in the classroom and the ability to integrate and contextualize this knowledge. In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative). See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus. It is possible that emergency situations prevent the students to taking part in the examination in attendance for the final evaluation. In this case, the Teams platform will be used. (https://cedia.unige.it/sites/cedia.unige.it/files/pagine/TEAMS%20mini%20guida%20IT%20Studente.pdf) ASSESSMENT METHODS The choice of the examination method allows to verify the acquisition of the knowledge inserted in the training objectives and includes two tests: -A practical test where the student must describe one histological preparations by the use of optical microscope. -An oral test that is the examination methods used and that includes most of the program carried out allows to better evaluate how the student orients himself in the entire tissue scenario addressed in class, allowing also to evaluate his reasoning skills. aimed at associating structural notions with functional concepts. FURTHER INFORMATION In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.
