CODE 64949 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025 CREDITS 9 cfu anno 5 GIURISPRUDENZA 7995 (LMG/01) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR IUS/01 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester PREREQUISITES Propedeuticità in ingresso Per sostenere l'esame di questo insegnamento è necessario aver sostenuto i seguenti esami: LAW 7995 (coorte 2020/2021) INSTITUTIONS OF PRIVATE LAW I 64899 2020 TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course aims to offer an in-depth overview (thanks also to the use of doctrinal and jurisprudential materials that will be published on aulaweb) of the subject traditionally pertaining to the area of civil liability. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Objective of the course is to explore in details the law of torts in its evolutionary dimension, with reference both to the major kinds of torts, and to recoverable damages, pecuniary and non-pecuniary. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Individual study, attendance and participation in the proposed educational activities will allow the student to: Understand and remember the main legal provisions that regulate the discipline of civil liability; Identify the main application problems, in relation to the progressive acquisitions of doctrine and jurisprudence; Understand the structure and functioning mechanism of the civil liability system, with particular reference to the evolution of the area of damage; Read and critically examine, with autonomy of judgment, scientific articles and texts of judgments, in particular of the Court of Cassation; Set up and carry out a legal argument relating to the subject matter of the course. PREREQUISITES The provisions of the didactic regulations with reference to the preparatory course apply. TEACHING METHODS Frontal lessons SYLLABUS/CONTENT The matter governed by articles 2043-2059 of the Italian civil code, in addition to some institutions governed by special laws (the liability of the producer and the liability of the magistrates) RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Cesare Salvi, La responsabilità civile (third edition), Milan, Giufffrè, 2019 (all: about 300 pages), in addition to the materials that will be uploaded to the web classroom.
