AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims at providing students with the economic skills necessary to understand the mechanisms of generation of technological innovation and the assessment of its impact on the econoc system. The processes of innovation will be addressed at level of single company, industry sector and territorial system also deepening the diffusion dynamics of innovations and the public policies in support of technological innovation.

TEACHING METHODS

The course consists of lectures, practical exercises and small group activities aimed at consolidating acquired knowledge and self-assessment of the level of learning and understanding.

Students who have valid certification of physical or learning disabilities  and who wish to discuss possible accommodations or other circumstances regarding lectures, coursework and exams, should speak both with the instructor and with the Department’s disability liaison.

Theoretical foundations of the economics of innovation.

Science, technology and knowledge

The innovative enterprise

Sectoral patterns of innovation and industrial dynamics

Sectoral and spatial diffusion

Innovation, employment and economic development

The above topics will also be explored from the perspective of digital innovation.
