Develop the ability to design a research b. Critically deepen the different research models starting from research papers c. Develop the theoretical framework of an educational research (make a reference bibliography) d. Formulate the research questions is. Define the participants or the sample f. Develop simple quantitative analysis tools (eg questionnaire) g. Knowing how to critically analyze research data h. Know how to communicate a search i. Connect educational research to teaching practice. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The lab module aims to develop students' ability to: (a) Knowledge and understanding skills: - Describe the steps of an empirical research project in education empirical research strategies in education - To be able to define the topic and problem and the research hypothesis, - to be able to elaborate the theoretical and cultural framework of a research project in education - knowing how to define participants or the sample b) Applied knowledge and understanding: - Being able to do a research project Designing empirical research - To be able to create a data collection instrument (questionnaire, interview schedule, observation grid) and to know the essential requirements of what the research instrument must look like for it to yield results - Being able to conduct both a structured and a semi-structured interview Knowing how to participate/lead the observation c) Autonomy of judgement -Able to apply acquired skills and knowledge - Knowing how to critically analyse and discuss data d) Communication skills: - Knowing how to communicate research findings taking into account the audience e) Learning skills: - Be able to use the knowledge learnt to update and acquire other knowledge - Being able to methodically address the challenges of educational research TEACHING METHODS The workshop will use active and participatory teaching methods. Students will be involved using group-works, simulations, case analysis and the following moments of reflection on the action. Aulaweb wil be used for teacher to upload some files and for student to support your personal path and sharing some files with the group. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The "Metodologia della ricerca educativa e didattica (Laboratorio)" is focused on the structuring of a research design in the educational field. The lab module will allow for in-depth study of the methods, definition of the question, construction of the sample, first analysis and discussion of the data. Among the different aspects of the research process, the survey tools (focus groups, semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, observational methods) will be examined, paying attention, also, to their use as resources to improve the quality of the didactic action.
