OVERVIEW

Sociology (4 CFU).

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aim is to lead students through a path that allows them to orient themselves in sociology and to develop an informed and critical perspective on the structures and spheres of associated life. This will occur through conceptual transmission, also mediated by moments of common discussion.

At the end of the course the student shall have in his/her cultural background:

1) a knowledge of the main theoretical families of sociology;

2) the main notions on the most common methods and tools of social research;

3) a comprehension of the areas of application of general sociology, with particular attention to the spheres of health and sport;

4) an acquisition of the basic theoretical and methodological tools for building planning skills relating to health and sport in the socio-economic local context.

The learning of points 1,2 and 3 will be verified through a written test with multiple choice questions.

The learning of point 4 will be verified through a social project (micro-planning) created by the students (in groups of 1 to 4).

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lessons with the aid of slides. Space will be given to collective discussion.

During the course, an exercise is planned to apply the methodological knowledge learned.

Some lessons will be dedicated to micro-social planning and design, with use and analysis of project documentation.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.

The sociologist Deborah Erminio and the social designer Giovanni Durante will collaborate to the course. This part will be dedicated to providing information that will allow students to develop a social project relating to the themes of sport and health. The issues of defining aims, objectives, methods, phases, activities, targets, expected results, budget and financing will be addressed.
