OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide students with basic elements to move in the IT world and essential notions of how IT has developed in favor of man, and how it can be decisive for enhancing physical activity and sport. Students will acquire adequate skills regarding the use of IT tools for the management and communication of information and skills related to computational thinking.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the course is to illustrate the following topics:

• representation of information
• basic hardware and software components of a computer
• fundamentals of computer networks
• image coding
• basic information to create and use worksheet and presentations

TEACHING METHODS

Face to face.

Any student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.

• Information representation
• Hardware and software computer architecture
• Basics of networks and image coding
• Tool for producing worksheet and professional presentation
