OVERVIEW

The teaching aims to develop skills relating to general and special pedagogy with particular attention to the educational and ethical-social aspects connected to physical and sporting practice. It addresses the fundamental issues of Pedagogy (declined in Sports Pedagogy) and Special Education in order to promote inclusion processes through the education and training of the person in the planning of physical and sporting activities.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching aims to develop skills relating to general and special pedagogy with particular attention to the educational and ethical-social aspects connected to physical and sporting practice. It addresses the fundamental issues of Pedagogy (declined in Sports Pedagogy) and Special Education in order to promote inclusion processes through the education and training of the person in the planning of physical and sporting activities.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Purpose of teaching is:

  • to develop educational and training skills to plan inclusive physical and sporting activities;
  • to know the fundamentals of recreational-motor-sports literacy;
  • to know the areas and contents of Sports Pedagogy; 
  • to understand the educational role of sport in contemporary society;
  • to understand the pedagogical value of training and competitions in youth sports;
  • to promote critical reflection on the pedagogical implications in youth sport;
  • to know the meaning and approach of Pedagogy and Special Teaching for the promotion of inclusive physical and sporting activities.

TEACHING METHODS

Lessons are conducted in the presence of the teacher and have mainly character of lectures. Within the course, group activities can be provided.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The program of the course will consist, mainly, in the following contents: the pedagogy as a science and its objects of study; the categories of pedagogical thinking; the logic and the language of the scientific discourse in pedagogy; the interpretative dimension and the structuring of the method of intervention within pedagogical practices involved in human and educational processes.
