OVERVIEW

This course aims to give the students the theoretical basis for the definition, recognition, and potential motor disability of rheumatological diseases, regarding both mechanical/degenerative and inflammatory ones.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The learning objective is to know the main rheumatological conditions, with particular reference to the motor and disabling aspects.

The expected learning outcomes are to know the main categories of rheumatological diseases and their potential motor disabilities and to have a better understanding of the importance of physical activity in these conditions.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is based on frontal lessons for 20 hours in total.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will be in written form, a closed-ended questionnaire composed of 30 quizzes, lasting 60 minutes in total. Each correct question will award 1 point out of 30, while each incorrect question will correspond to 0 points out of 30.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative).
